50 States Project
One of the standards that 5th grade students are expected to meet is the ability to locate and name each of the 50 US states, their capitol and know the two letter abbreviation. We will be completing a project that will address this standard during the first half of the year and then will be doing a state fair during the second half of the year. Students will be assigned all of the states in a given region to research. They will record their information on the state worksheet (attached below) I will provide students one copy for each state when we begin that region, if additional copies are needed please download below. At the end of each region study students will be given an open note quiz, their performance on this quiz is directly related to the quality of work they do on their state worksheets. Please refer to this page for due dates and assigned regions.
